MODULES & LEARNING

In this module you will work to real industry briefs. You will learn about the boundaries that are pushed in the events industry, and how to produce innovative and engaging events.

You will be asked to pick a topic that you are passionate about, and study it in depth, then develop a 10,000 word piece of work through primary and secondary research. There is a wide opportunity to study a subject close to your heart, everything from volunteer motivation to the effectiveness of celebrity engagement.

Event Strategy & Marketing

Events are run in collaboration. For example, the Olympics is run with a range of organisations such as local authorities, brand sponsors, professional associations. So on this module, through case studies, you will learn how to manage the different stakeholders, how to keep them happy, and how to anticipate their needs well in advance of them.

You will come to understand events from a commercial perspective. Value matching will be covered, detailing why links between sponsors and events are important, and why they work. For example, you will learn why some companies look to sponsor the arts, rather than sport.

On the course, you will undertake good theoretical learning of the industry and have access to real briefs form fund-raising professionals and learn - what is innovation, why people come to events, and why companies wish to associate themselves with them. You will learn how to write sponsorship proposals, present successful pitches and anticipate client needs.
