Overview

If you are an aspiring marketer or already working in a supportive marketing role, the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing could be your springboard into the industry or to promotion.

As part of your course you will:

Like our students on campus, you will have the same excellent teaching and learning resources, however you’ll find these online instead of in a lecture theatre. Not only are all the modules taught online, but you will also have access to an online community and more than 140,000 books and journals in our online library.

To study this course, you will require broadband internet connection with a speed of 2mbps and working speakers. You will need Windows 7 / Mac OSX 10.8 or above and have access to Chrome v63 or higher (recommended), Edge v42+, Firefox v57+ or Safari v6+. Java and Adobe Acrobat Reader will need to be enabled and you will need a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for this course are set by the CIM. One or more of the following is required:

  • CIM Level 3 qualification.
  • Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.
  • Any relevant level 3 qualification.
  • Any UK degree or international equivalent.
  • International Baccalaureate (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above).
  • Professional practice (suggested one year in a marketing role).
  • All applicants should satisfy our University English language requirements, please access further details at this link

    IELTS:

    IELTS 6.5 with no skill below 6.0, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.

    Mature Applicants:

    Our University welcomes applications from mature applicants who demonstrate academic potential. All students will be considered through the contextual admissions policy described above. If you do not meet the requirements through the contextual admissions policy, we may still be able to make you an offer if you have recent relevant work experience through our ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ policy. Please ensure that you list both your qualifications and any relevant work experience in your application so that we can consider you under both schemes where applicable..

This will include the marketing mix and a tactical planning framework to aid marketing effectiveness.

    Senior Lecturer
    Dong’s main research interest is in the areas of consumer behaviour, retailing and online shopping. She is involved in several consultancy research projects commissioned by businesses and has supported many global brands and packaging companies in how to use consumer voice in their innovation processes. Dong has a passion for employing innovative and cross-disciplinary research methods to identify business opportunities and address complex challenges.
    This CIM qualification is not only beneficial for someone looking to break into marketing from another discipline or to fill a knowledge gap in their CV, but it is also for someone with many years of experience who wish to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date.

    • Access to software, including five free copies of Microsoft Office 365 to install on your PC, laptop and MAC, and access to free high-end software via the Leeds Beckett remote app
