You will be studying at our UK Centre for Events Management on the longest-running events management course in the UK.
Entry Requirements
120 points required
UCAS Tariff Points: 120 points required. (Minimum 80 from two A Levels or equivalent, excluding General Studies).

Additional Requirements: GCSEs: GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or above (Grade 4 for those sitting their GCSE from 2017 onwards) or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy/Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs.

Access to HE Diploma: Pass overall with a minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points.

Scottish Awards: Minimum of 5 subjects at Grade B at Higher Level.

Irish Leaving Certificate: Minimum of 5 subjects at Grade C1 or above at Higher Level of which at least 3 must be at B2

Level 6 Entry (available for Full time attendance only): Applicants should have a HND, Foundation degree or equivalent award in the cognate subject of Events Management or a similar programme..

Selection Criteria: We may use selection criteria based on your personal attributes; experience and/or commitment to the area of study. This information will be derived from your personal statement and reference and will only be used if you have met the general entry requirements.

International Baccalaureate: 26 Points
IELTS:
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
Mature Applicants
Our University welcomes applications from mature applicants who demonstrate academic potential. We usually require some evidence of recent academic study, for example completion of an access course, however recent relevant work experience may also be considered. Please note that for some of our professional courses all applicants will need to meet the specified entry criteria and in these cases work experience cannot be considered in lieu.

We would strongly recommend that you complete our sandwich course which includes a one-year placement in industry to give you the relevant, real-life event experience that will significantly improve your employment prospects once you graduate. There will be a variety of further opportunities to gain paid or voluntary work experience at various events throughout your course.

Our Events Society is one of the largest in the University, and you will be made very welcome. As a member of the busy society, you can gain extra qualifications, for example a first aid certificate. You may also be able to plan and implement your own events.

Guest lecturers working in the industry will provide you with insight into today's events environment and business strategy.

    Course Leader for the largest events management course in the world, Ruth has been a senior lecturer at the UK Centre for Events Management since 2007. She has over 30 years' experience as an events practitioner, having worked as Head of Events at the NHS Modernisation Agency. She combines her interest in events with a passion for theology and in July 2012, Ruth became an ordained deacon in the Church of England.

FEES & FUNDING
The tuition fee for the year for students entering in 2017/18 is £9250. The amount you will pay may increase each year to take into account the effects of inflation.

Coaching and First Aid qualifications - You will have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in coaching and First Aid. Individual costs will vary depending on the qualification.
The tuition fee for the year for students entering in 2017/18 is £10500. The amount you will pay is fixed at this level for each year of your course.
