“My MBA allowed me to think more strategically and introduced me to many useful management tools. It also helped me to think about which parts of business learning actually pertain to SMEs. Being an engineer, the soft side of strategic thinking was particularly useful to me.

MODULES & LEARNING

Develop the key decision-making skills by applying accounting and financial techniques to assist in control and planning at management level.

Apply your learning to a real organisational issue of strategic level across any relevant business and management disciplines. You'll be encouraged to work independently and also manage a client consultant relationship.

Examine both traditional and digital-based marketing concepts and activities and develop an integrated approach fit for the 21st century.

Explore key topic areas in the study of organisational behaviour and HRM and develop effective management practices linked with performance measures and business success.

Exploit your academic and vocational potential within a framework of lifelong learning, initially through the exploration of current strengths/weaknesses and the identification of personal development goals.

Evaluate decisions that managers are faced with in complex and dynamic environments, combining multiple perspectives of business and management (leadership, creativity and human capital, finance and environmental analytics, creativity and strategic thinking approaches).

Enhance your understanding of how evaluating, managing and improving business processes in a range of settings drives the performance of an organisation.

Become equipped with the necessary frameworks to critically assess and analyse consumption decisions of different target segments.

Evaluate the fundamental concepts and theories of modern finance, identifying how these can be effectively applied in both national and multinational organisations.

Explore a range of entrepreneurship theories and practices, taking an in-depth examination of business start-ups, the experiences of entrepreneurs and key aspects of small business management.

Cover topics on decision theory (decision trees and tables), linear programming, regression, time series, portfolio optimisation, discounted cash flow and finance.

Discover the need for and role of corporate governance in the business environment, the role of IT in forensic accounting and fraud detection and the types and incidences of fraud

You'll be introduced to the supply chain concept by observing a variety of companies and how they are changing their business practices to achieve corporate objectives in the current economic climate.

Study the inter-relationships of 'uncontrollable' (macro) environmental factors in the setting of international business environments and examine the impact of these external environments on the international operation of enterprises.

Develop an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and specifics of the markets in Brazil, Russia, India and China, as examples of the numerous country markets now identified as 'emerging'.

Identify, understand, evaluate and compare types of investment for the private investor, including tools, methods and strategies.

Focus on the learning and development of leaders and managers within organisations so you can assess the value of leadership and management development to an organisation's success.

Develop the knowledge and competencies required to act as an effective marketing manager. You'll look at staff management and development, team building, information systems, management of external suppliers, and performance measurement and analysis.

Develop the relevant supporting theoretical knowledge of the full range of media, from the traditional forms to digital opportunities, as well as a detailed study of their application.

Develop an understanding of branding, consumer relationships with brands and the brand management process in a dynamic, highly competitive and global operating environment.

Address the strategic and management issues that global companies confront when they operate across borders.

Our aim is to give you the space to think and critically appreciate your current strengths and areas for development and to gain insight into both your leadership skills and the management challenges you face. We help you to develop and apply new decisive leadership methods to enable you to raise your game.

The MBA (Executive) recruits experienced practitioners who wish to both accelerate their career opportunities and directly apply their learning to enhance their own performance and that of their organisation. You will be encouraged to share your working experiences with fellow delegates and with expert staff who can support you to devise practical solutions to your leadership challenges.
