Entry Requirements
Additional Requirements: This course is level 6 entry only. Applicants should have a HND, Foundation degree or equivalent award in a cognate subject.

GCSEs: GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy/Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs.

Selection Criteria: We may use selection criteria based on your personal attributes; experience and/or commitment to the area of study. This information will be derived from your personal statement and reference and will only be used if you have met the general entry requirements.

IELTS:
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
Mature Applicants
Our University welcomes applications from mature applicants who demonstrate academic potential. We usually require some evidence of recent academic study, for example completion of an access course, however recent relevant work experience may also be considered. Please note that for some of our professional courses all applicants will need to meet the specified entry criteria and in these cases work experience cannot be considered in lieu.

Using Leeds as a case study, you'll experience the full range of hospitality offerings including restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, pubs and more. We can help you find vacancies or opportunities, or pursue any of your special interests for your work placement during your third year.

Regular guest speakers from the industry will give you a broad view of the industry and provide networking opportunities. There are a number of field trips - some will be module related and others are for the purpose of personal or team development skills.

There is an opportunity to negotiate your own assessments, tailor the course to your own interests and goals and undertake on-going training throughout your course in specific industry interests and qualifications.

The foundation of our course is based on the view that hospitality is, by definition, international so our graduates have gone on to work all over the world - Canada, Africa, Australia, Hong Kong are just a few of the places they have been successful. If you take a gap year after study you can utilise your skills in well-paid roles around the world to finance your travels.

    This course will soon make you aware that the hospitality industry is both dynamic and diverse, and continues to grow in economic importance You only need to look at the high street today to see how the industry is evolving and contributes an increasingly sophisticated retail offer. The great news for young people is that the industry is renowned for its accessible opportunities for plucky entrepreneurs and there continues to be a high demand for skilled staff and management.

    Peter spent his early career in hotel management before joining Sodexo, one of the giants in the food services management industry. During his 23 years in industry he managed several high profile catering contracts and now lectures across several areas within the hospitality management field and is currently studying for a Professional Doctorate in Education.

FEES & FUNDING
The tuition fee for the year for students entering in 2017/18 is £9250. The amount you will pay may increase each year to take into account the effects of inflation.

Coaching and First Aid qualifications - You will have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in coaching and First Aid. Individual costs will vary depending on the qualification.
The tuition fee for the year for students entering in 2017/18 is £10500. The amount you will pay is fixed at this level for each year of your course.
