We will help you develop into a critical, efficient and reflective practitioner with the capabilities required for membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

We have been successfully delivering personnel and HR programmes for more than 40 years and the quality of our provision has been recognised by the CIPD and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. If you have a PG Diploma Human Resource Management you could apply to study the final 60 credits of this qualification to gain the MA Human Resource Management.

George has extensive practical and academic experience in the field of strategic management, R&D (research and development) and the adoption of new technologies and innovation. He has done extensive research and enterprise work in the area of buyer behaviour, with particular interest in online purchasing and the use of technology to enable the sustainable growth of businesses. He has also supervised and examined many PhDs both in the UK and Europe and is an external examiner for two UK universities.

  • CIPD joining fee: £40 per year
  • CIPD membership fee: £92 per year 

Other study-related expenses to consider: books (the library stocks books from your module reading list but you may wish to purchase copies for yourself); placement costs (these may include travel expenses and living costs);student visas (international students only); printing, photocopying and stationery; field trips; study abroad opportunities (travel costs and accommodation, visas and immunisations); PC/laptop (provided on campus in social learning spaces and in the library. However, you may prefer to have your own); mobile phone/tablet (to access University online services); academic conferences (travel costs); professional-body membership (where applicable); and graduation (gown hire and guest tickets).

This list is not exhaustive and costs will vary depending on the choices you make during your course. Any rental or living costs are also in addition to your course fees.

    Our Library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, providing you with access to specialist books and journals, learning spaces, computers, multimedia facilities and media equipment hire. Tens of thousands of our Library's digital resources, including ebooks, ejournals and databases, can be accessed online at a time and place to suit you.

    The Rose Bowl has impressive teaching spaces, auditoriums, conference facilities and an outstanding local reputation as a business hub. The Rose Bowl puts our students at the centre of a dynamic business community.

  • Simulation suite
    Simulation suite

    You will use Critical Decision Immersive Simulations in this facility to develop effective leadership and group participant skills. The simulations replicate the complexities of real life scenarios that would challenge decision makers, aiming to improve your decision making, critical thinking and communication skills.

It is not every university that can offer you the chance to study in the best tall building in the world. But we can. Our City Campus is home to such award-winning learning environments as Broadcasting Place, voted best tall building in the world in 2010. Other buildings include the Rose Bowl, home to our Business School, which was awarded Best Commercial Property Development in the 2009 Yorkshire Property awards. Just over the road from the Rose Bowl is the Leslie Silver building which houses one of our impressive libraries across five floors. The library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year.
