Overview

Cultivate your managerial skills in a hands-on marketing context. Your course modules will provide vital insights into the function of management, strategic and international marketing - particularly the role of social media - and the benefits of understanding consumer behaviour in small and medium-sized enterprises and blue-chip organisations. You could work on a live consultancy project, which will expose you to potential employers and industry contacts, or you could choose to specialise in a particular area of management or marketing when researching and writing your dissertation.

Course Director
Garry Carr has more than 20 years' of experience of teaching management at both undergraduate and postgraduate Level. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the American Academy of Management. He has consultancy experience within the private and public sectors and has research interests in strategic management, creative industries and organisational theory.
This course has a dual focus on developing core managerial skills and competences alongside those specific to the area of marketing management. This includes the need to take a common sense but innovative approach to solving real world business problems.

It is not every university that can offer you the chance to study in the best tall building in the world. But we can. Our City Campus is home to such award-winning learning environments as Broadcasting Place, voted best tall building in the world in 2010. Other buildings include the Rose Bowl, home to our Business School, which was awarded Best Commercial Property Development in the 2009 Yorkshire Property awards. Just over the road from the Rose Bowl is the Leslie Silver building which houses one of our impressive libraries across five floors. The library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year.
