As a mental health carer you will develop relationships with patients and their families and help nurse them back to full mental health.
Entry Requirements
Requirements:Applicants should normally have a professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy or Professional Training at Postgraduate level in Clinical Supervision and a relevant degree.

Applicants are asked to complete a research topic proposal and submit this with their application. Further details can be found at this link.

All suitable candidates, unless progressing from the Postgraduate Diploma Counselling & Psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University, will be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional; a template can be accessed at this link.. Enhanced Criminal History Checks
Satisfactory enhanced criminal history checks will be required by all applicants prior to acceptance on the course. For further information on DBS checks, click here. The DBS in the UK is currently not able to conduct overseas criminal record checks. International applicants, those without British Citizenship and British Citizens with a significant period of overseas residency therefore require a criminal records check or certificate of good conduct from their home/overseas country prior to entry on to the course. A UK DBS check will be required after enrolment.
IELTS:
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
Mature Applicants
Our University welcomes applications from mature applicants who demonstrate academic potential. We usually require some evidence of recent academic study, for example completion of an access course, however recent relevant work experience may also be considered. Please note that for some of our professional courses all applicants will need to meet the specified entry criteria and in these cases work experience cannot be considered in lieu.

Please note that all applicants to our University are required to meet our standard English language requirement of GCSE grade C or equivalent, variations to this will be listed on the individual course entry requirements.

MODULES & LEARNING

Undertake an independent piece of original advanced research that you will plan, implement and report. Showcase your initiative and responsibility in this process, your capacity to reflect on evidence, and make links with research theory and practice.

You will gain a theoretical, methodological and practical foundation for social research, enabling you to act as a social researcher to resolve practice based problems.

Our course will give you the opportunity to undertake in-depth research in an area of your interest. You'll build on your existing knowledge and experience, and gain an advanced critical and relexive understanding of the theory, practice and established methods of psychotherapy for use in professional practice.

FEES & FUNDING
Studying part-time gives you the flexibility to learn at your own pace. Because of this, our tuition fees are calculated using credit points. Each module you study has a credit point value. Most taught postgraduate modules have a credit point value of 20. The tuition fee for students entering in in 2017/18 on this course is £677.6 for each 20 credit point module. For modules with a different credit point value their cost can be calculated by multiplying the credit value of the module by the cost per credit point of £33.88. The amount you will pay may increase each year in line with inflation.
